The Coronal Polishing Certification course at D.A. Academy of NC is tailored for Dental Assistants II (or Dental Assistants I with supervising dentist approval) to expand their skill set by learning to polish the coronal surfaces of teeth. This course complies with the Dental Laws of North Carolina, ensuring students are trained to perform this procedure safely and effectively under the supervision of a licensed dentist.
Course Overview
This program combines lecture-based instruction with hands-on clinical practice to equip dental assistants with the theoretical knowledge and practical skills needed to perform coronal polishing. Students will work in a clinical environment using teeth models to gain proficiency and confidence.
Course Topics Include:
Anatomy of teeth and oral structures related to coronal polishing. Infection control and safety measures during polishing procedures. Tools, techniques, and materials used in coronal polishing. Clinical practice polishing coronal surfaces using teeth models.
Prerequisites
To enroll in this course, participants must meet and/or submit the following requirements & supporting documents. Student success advisors are available to assist you in determining what supporting documents will suffice.
Valid Identification (license / passport)
Provide their own proof to verify their Dental Assistant status or, the supervising dentist can agree to verify by completing the "supervising dentist' section on the application
Current CPR certification.
