Dental Radiography Certification (21 Hours) – In-Person & Online
Learn to safely and effectively take dental X-rays in North Carolina. This course is NC State Dental Board approved and covers everything from X-ray production and terminology to hands-on practice with digital radiography. 3-day course (21 hours): one day of lecture and two days of clinical practice.

Coronal Polishing Certification (8 Hours) – In-Person
Enhance your chairside skills by learning to polish the crown surfaces of teeth (a task often delegated to DA IIs under dentist supervision). This one-day course is taught by a licensed Registered Dental Hygienist and combines lecture and hands-on practice on typodont teeth.

Nitrous Oxide Monitoring Certification (8 Hours) – In-Person & Online
Qualify to monitor patients under nitrous oxide (laughing gas) sedation – a valuable skill especially for pediatric or oral surgery offices. Our one-day course teaches the administration and safety of nitrous oxide analgesia per NC laws.

CPR & AED Certification (4 Hours) – In-Person
Get a NEW or RENEWAL Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification. Focused on CPR and AED use – a requirement for all dental professionals. We offer convenient class offerings, all taught by an American Heart Association instructor.

Dental Assistant Bootcamp – Skills Refresher (One-Day)
Feeling rusty or been out of the dental field for a while? Our Dental Assistant Bootcamp is a refresher course to rebuild your confidence and skills. Perfect for DAs returning to work or those who just want extra practice after graduating.
Virtual Learning Platform
Can’t attend in person? D.A. Academy’s Virtual Learning brings high-quality dental education to you online. Our NC Dental Radiography and Nitrous Oxide courses can be taken via self-paced online courses from anywhere in NC. You’ll get the same expert instruction and even complete certain hands-on components through guided at-home exercises. Virtual students have full access to instructors for Q&A and support.
Study kits are available through our online classroom as well. This is perfect supplemental instruction such as match exercise, fun interactive quizzes as well as printable flashcards to master your coursework information.
